the thing about this sunshine

I’d never experienced 44C heat before and when we had a few solid days of it (and not going below 26/27C at night) I was feeling a bit grumpy to put it mildly.
You see, I love sunshine, I really do, I love warm sunny days and balmy evenings – but not this warm. I’m also one of these strange types as I also love the rain, and wind, and cold fresh air, snow, frost and storms. My poor husband has had to put up with me moaning on about the heat lately and to be quite honest I can’t wait for the Autumn and to wrap up warm in a thick pair of wooly socks and a chunky scarf. The draw to moving to Australia for me was most certainly not the weather.
So I’ve decided, no more moaning about it and all the troubles it brings - about keeping little ones cool in the heat, about having to water the garden every day, about feeling hot and lethargic all the time, I’m going to have to get used to this heat, this weather so I need to find ways to enjoy it more.
First start is having more fun with keeping cool – more dips in the paddling pool, more fun watching Tabitha running through sprinklers, more ice-creams and ice-lollies, more extra-early morning trips to the park………. and one day – a house with air-conditioning!

Hi,
love your blog : )
I must say I don’t like really hot weather but a bit of warmth would be nice right now – I’m hanging out for Spring rather than Autumn!
oo and that doll and clothes on the previous post is just beautiful : )
Thank-you Sian! I’m sure when it’s been freezing cold I’ll be desperate for some sunshine again!! Thanks for stopping by x
