gingerbread house

Well today wasn’t so unbearably hot that the oven couldn’t be on for a little while so we set to making a gingerbread house together (with the help of a quick dash to my neighbour’s house for some more butter!)
I learnt from last year’s mistake and remembered that the measurements in the book for the roof were wrong so made my own up for that part and kept the decorations a bit simpler with just white chocolate fudge icing. I’m guessing it won’t stay intact for very long – I have a feeling this will be a new tradition in this home, seen as we’re not actually that keen on traditional Christmas cake anyway – plus the gingerbread is super quick to bake in the oven in these warmer temperatures…….

Looks excellent – you make it sound all so easy too!
